SEED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
It is my distinct honour and privilege to welcome you to the Advances in Crop Science and Technology.
The Advances in Crop Science and Technology is an open access journal; all the articles are peer reviewed by eminent people in the field. Journal strives to publish and get a worthy impact factor by quick visibility through its open access guiding principle for world class research work.
Seed science is the study of the structure and development of seeds from the moment of fertilization of the egg cell on the maternal plant until formation of a new plant from the seed. Seed science is divided into two sections carpology, studies the seeds and fruits of wild plants, and the other section studies the seeds of cultivated plants. Seed science is the theoretical basis of seed growing. Agricultural seed science also elaborates methods of evaluating and controlling seed material. The science is closely connected with botany, biochemistry, genetics, and other biological sciences.
In seeds, the greatest quantity of proteins is found in storage proteins. Many of the enzymes present in seeds are essential for storage reserve utilization by the embryo during the germination process. There still remain many diverse proteins that have structural (e.g., components of cell membranes and walls) or metabolic functions (e.g., enzymes and transporters) Some proteins found in seeds also provide protection against pests and pathogens.
We always encourage your research works under the scope of our Advances in Crop Science and Technology.
With regards,
